PLN launches prequalification to develop power projects in North Sumatera, others

JAKARTA (rambuenergy.com) – State owned electricity company PT PLN said it intends to select potential project sponsors to develop a number of power plants. The prequalification was part of the government’s drive to increase national power capacity to 60 MW.

The  selected Project Sponsors will establish Special Purpose Companies (SPC) and will develop, finance, construct and operate the Projects on a Build-Own-Operate (BOO) basis pursuant to a long-term Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) up to 20 (twenty) years.

The power was being offered to the Indonesian government to work North Sumatera power plant with capacity of 250 MW,  South Sumatera 200 MW, KALSELTENG (200 MW) & SULBAGUT (120 MW) Barge Mounted Gas Fired Power Plants Independent Power Producer (IPP) projects (through a competitive bidding process. The Projects will be operated as peaker units.

The company said the prequalification is open to investors or interested parties, either domestic or foreign partnership with domestic, who have relevant experiences in implementing power generation projects of scope and size comparable to the Projects.

The bidders will be selected through a competitive bidding process from a pool of Applicants that meet the qualification criteria set forth in pre-qualification document. The Qualification Criteria will be based on certain business, technical, financial and legal criteria.

PLN invites investors or interested parties to submit PQ applications in accordance with the criteria set forth in the Pre-Qualification document. Interest parties can obtain prequalification document on April 20-30, 2015 (*)
