JAKARTA (RambuEnergy.com) – As a move to prevent corrupt practices and improve good corporate governance, state-owned geothermal developer PT Geo Dipa Energi has now applied e-procurement.
The company has been embroiled in a legal battle in the last few years over geothermal project development. In order to prevent a similar case to happen, the company is now improving its business procedures.
President Director of Geo Dipa Riki Ibrahim said the company has been given the task to help assure the country’s energy security. The company, he said, is committed to carrying out its duty while at the same time maintaining the good corporate governance through the company’s tag-line “Clean Geo Dipa” (Geo Dipa Bersih).
Geo Dipa is currently developing a number of geothermal projects, including PLTP Dieng Unit I. The company is currently working on expanding the installed capacity of the geothermal power plant by adding 2 more units.
In addition, the company is developing working areas Candradimuka (Banjarnegara), Arjuno Welirang and Candi Umbul Telomoyo.
To support the company’s projects, Geo Dipa is approaching turbine producers from the US and China to manufacture turbines locally, aiming at increasing local content of its projects.
The company is in talks with Ormat of US as well as Zhejiang Kaishan Compressor Co. Ltd (Kaishan) of China. The company is currently involving in the PLTP Sorik Marapi, North Sumatera, operated by KS Orka Renewables Pte Ltd.
Meanwhile, Ormat is taking part in the Sarula geothermal project in Sumatera.
