JAKARTA (RambuEnergy.com) – PT Pertamina EP, a subsidiary of oil and gas company PT Pertamina, kicks off the drilling of offshore well Poleng N2 on Sept 21, located in offshore east Java,
The company used ENSCO 67 RiG to drill the offshore well. The well will be drilled with target depth of 9,000 feet with a cost of US$15 million.
Director for Operation and Production of Pertamina EP Chalid Said Salim said the well drilling is a form of positive synergy between subsidiaries of Pertamina, namely Pertamina EP and Pertamina Hulu Energi.
For Pertamina EP, this will be its offshore drilling. The Poleng N2 well is part of Pertamina’s Assets 4, which manages a number of onshore and offshore oil and gas blocks in eastern Indonesia as well as gas production (CPP) facilities such as CPP Gundih, CPP Donggi and CPP Matindok.
The company expects to produce additinal 700 million barrels of oil per day and 1.2 million standard cubic feet per day (MMSCFD) of gas, said Didik Susilo, general manager of Pertamina EP for Assets 4. (*)
