JAKARTA (RAMBUENERGY.com) – Toshiba Corporation announced that it has won a tender to provide equipments for Malea hydro power plant, located in South Sulawesi Indonesia, owned by PT Malea Energy, a subsidiary of Kalla Group.
Takao Konishi, deputy president for Thermal & Hydro Power Systems and Services of Toshiba Energy System & Solutions Company said that the demand for power in Indonesia is really high. Toshiba is proud to contribute to improve the capacity.
Toshiba will deliver the high head, high rotational speed equipment in 2018, with the plant scheduled to start commercial operation in 2020.
The power plant is part of the Indonesian government’s drive to add 35,000 MW in installed capacity over the next five years. The hydropower plant will contribute to reaching this target. (*)
