JAKARTA (rambuenergy.com) – The National Police Detective Unit (Bareskrim) has detained Raden Priyono, former head of BP Migas, now Special Task Force for Upstream Oil and Gas (SKK Migas) over alleged implication in the condensate sale by PT Trans Pacific Petrochemical Indotama (TPPI).
Priyono has been previously declared as one of suspect in the TPPI condensate sale case.
Priyono’s lawyer Supriyadi was quoted by detik.com that the former BP Migas head was detained since last night.
In the TPPI condensate corrupt case, the police has declared other suspects including former deputy for financial of BP Migas Djoko Harsono and former owner of PT Trans Pacific Petrochemical Indotama (TPPI), Honggo Wendratno.
The police investigation team accused that the condensate sale to TPPI was without proper contract that has caused losses to the state.
In related development, TPPI refineries began commercial operation in 2006. However, it halted operation in December 2011 due to huge debts.
The refinery has resumed operation and is now operated and controlled by state energy company PT Pertamina.
Currently, the national police is investigating corrupt case involving government certain officials and TPPI executives. VP Jusuf Kalla has said the investigation should not make company executives to be afraid of making decision. (*)
