PLN relaunches prequalification process for Jambi peaker gas fired power plant

JAKARTA (rambuenergy.com) – State electricity company PT PLN has relaunched prequalification process for Jambi peaker gas fired power plant independent power producer (IPP) project which will have a capacity of 100 megawatt (MW).

“With regard to the procurement of power supply purchase from (100 MW) Jambi peaker gas fired power plant in Jambi province, PLN would like to conduct re-Prequalification (Re-PQ) in order to obtain potential project sponsors,” PLN said in a published announcement.

The Re-PQ is open to the consortia who previously had participated in and passed the Pre-Qualification process and new interested parties, including foreign companies and/or foreign investment company which form consortium with domestic company, it said.

After pass the Re-PQ process, the new applicants and previous applicants will enter into a competitive bidding process to be selected as the sponsor of the project. The selected project sponsor shall obtain the land for the project, and develop, finance, construct and operate the project on a build-own-operate-transfer (BOOT) basis pursuant to along-term Power purchase Agreement (PPA) up to 2o years.

The project sponsor will also be required to finance and construct the associated transmission line and high voltage sub station which will be transferred to PLN as special facilities.

The company said Oct 19-30 for companies to collect the Re-PQ document at PLN’s headquarter office. (*)
