Indonesia govt launches tender for Danau Ranau, Lawu geothermal WKs

JAKARTA (rambuenergy.com) – The Ministry for Energy and Mineral Resources has launched tender for Danau Ranau Geothermal and Lawu Geothermal Working Areas (WKs).

Danau Ranau geothermal WK is located in Ogan Komering Ulu Selatan Regency, South Sumatera province and Lampung Barat Regency, Lampung province, covering 8,561 hectares.

The Danau Ranau Working Area has geothermal probably reserves of 210 MW and development planning capacity of 110 MW. The government has set ceiling tariff for the power plant at 14.6 cent US dollar per kWh.

The Ministry also opened tender for Gunung Lawu Geothermal Working Area, loated in Karanganyar Regency, Sragen Tegency, Wonogiri Regency in Central Java province; and in Ngawi Regency, Magetan Regency in East Java province.

The Gunung Lawu geothermal WK covers 60,030 hectares with probably reserves of 195 MW and developing planning capacity of 165 MW. The government has set ceiling tariff for the power plant at 14.6 cent US dollar per kWh.

The government expects the two geothermal projects to start commercial operations in 2022.

Those that can take part in the tender are those business entities with experiences and scope of works in geothermal, oil and gas, mineral/coal mining and electricity generation.
