JAKARTA (rambuenergy.com) – Star Energy (Kakap) Ltd has launched an open tender to procure umbilical equipments for KRA South 2 infill well tie-in facilities project within the Kakap PSC, which is located in the Natuna Sea, 486 km northeast of Singapore ad 1,247 km north of Jakarta.

The company has set registration date on March 20-26, 2015 for interested bidders to take part in the tender. Further information is available at the company’s website: eproc.starenergy.co.id.

The Kakap PSC has been operated by Star Energy since 2003. The block covers 2,00 square kilometers in two separate blocks. The PSC contains oil and gas fields which are operated from four platforms with six subsea tie-backs. The contract for the block recently entered a renewal phase and will be effective until 2028.

Star Energy revealed in its website that Kakap’s daily capacity in 2012 is around 3,700 barrels of oil and condensate and 42 million cubic feet of natural gas. All the oil and condensate is piped to the Floating Storage and Offloading unit (FSO) for processing and storage until it is transfered to tankers for export.

Sales gas produced in Kakap is currently coming from the KH, KRA, Jangkar and South KRA fields. It is processed at the KF platform before being shipped via the undersea pipeline of the West Natuna transportation System (WNTS) to Singapore. (*)
