Indonesia anti-graft body detains former House member Bhatoegana

JAKARTA (rambuenergy.com) – Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) on Monday (Feb 2) detained former member of the House of Representative (DPR) Commission VII which oversees energy and mineral resources sector Sutan Bhatoegana for his implication in graft case related with the deliberation of the 2013 Revised State Budget.

Bhatoegana was declared as a suspect on May 13, 2014 however was only been detained on Feb. 2, 2015. Bhatoegana was accused to have received bribery from the former head of the Special Task Force for Upstream Oil and Gas Business (SKK Migas) Rudi Rubiandini.

Rubiandini has been put in jailed for receiving bribery from a commissioner of private company Kernel Oil Pte Ltd Simon Gunawan.

Spokesperson of KPK Johan Budi SP told reporters on Monday that KPK may expand the investigation of the case to other members of Commission VII. (*)
