Indonesia govt appoints three new Pertamina directors

JAKARTA (Rambu Energy) – The State Enterprise Ministry has appointed three new directors of state owned oil and gas company PT Pertamina for the period of 2014-2019. They are Rahmad Hardadi as director for processing, Syamsu Alam as director for upstream business and Dwi Wahyu Daryoto as director for human resources.

They join the current board of directors, namely Dwi Soetjipto (president director), Arief Budiman (finance director), Yenny Andayani (director for renewable energy) and Ahmad Bambang (director for retail marketing). “The new directors are appointed to meet the needs of Pertamina in order to attain its targets,” said Dwi Soetjipto.

He said under his leadership, Pertamina will have six directorates, namely, directorate for upstream, processing, new and renewable energy, retail, finance and human resources. Under previous management, Pertamina has nine members of board of directors.

Syamsu Alam, director upstream, said one of the main task of Pertamina is to increase oil and gas production. Alam, who was a former president director of PT Pertamina EP, said one of the company’s efforts to jack up production is to apply the enhanced oil recovery (EOR) scheme in aging fields.

Pertamina has two subsidiaries engaging in upstream business, namely PT Pertamina EP and Pertamina Hulu Energy. Currently, PHE produces 73,000 barrels of oil per day. Pertamina aims to boost production in those two subsidiary firms. In addition, Pertamina also steps up efforts to increase its production in overseas assets. (*)
