JAKARTA (Rambu Energy) – PT Austindo Aufwind New Energy (AANE), a subsidiary of PT Austindo Nusantara Jaya Tbk (ANJ), has secured loan US$750,000 from its parent firm to increase the capacity for its 1.2 MW biogas plant
The biogas plant is lcoated in Jangkang village, Belitung Island.
AANE was established in 2008 and operates biogas business. Biogas is produced from organic material and can be used as fuel in gen-sets. AANE is already operating its first plant at its Belitung Island Plantation and is processing waste water from its palm oil mill. The facility is operating to avoid the green house gas emissions as a clean development management (CDM) project registered at United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change) UNFCCC.
ANJ said in a statement that the loan has a tenor of three years, with interest rate of 2.75 percent plus LIBOR per year. ANJ owns 99 percent shares in AANE.
AANE and state electricity company PT PLN, Bangka Belitung branch, have signed a long term power purchase agreement. The 1.2 MW plant is the first independent power producer (IPP) in Indonesia to operate a biogas plant for commercial power generation.
