JAKARTA (Rambu Enegy) – PT Astra Agro Tbk [AALI.IJ], a subsidiary of diversified group PT Astra International Tbk [ASII.IJ] said its crude palm oil (CPO) production in the first ten months to October increased by 17.7 percent to 1.46 million tons from 1.24 million tons in the same period last year in line with higher fresh fruit bunches (FFB) production.
The company’s CPO sales volume however dropped to 10.5 percent to 1.13 million tons from 1.26 million tons in the same period 2013.
Its kernel production increased by 17.9 percent to 311,153 tons from 263,848 tons, while kernel sales volume increased by 8.7 percent to 292,461 tons from 269,101 tons.
The CPO average sales price in the ten months period stood at Rp8,396 per kilogram, up 20.6 percent from the same period last year at Rp6,963 per kg, while kernel average selling price stood at Rp5,319 per kg, surged 66.5 percent from Rp3,194 per kg.
The company said its fresh fruit bunch (FFB) production in January-October reached 4.67 million tons, increased by 12 percent compared to the same period last year. The company’s FFB yield also increased by 8.5 percent to 18.51 tons per hectare from 17.06 tons per hectare.
“This increase is driven by the production growth from Kalimantan estate which increased by 20.9 percent or reached 1.97 million tons, followed by Sumatera and Sulawesi estate with rose by 6.4 percent (1.89 million tons) and 6.4 percent (812,753 tons) respectively,” the company said.
The increase in FFB production has driven the company’s CPO production to increase by 17.7 percent to 1.46 million tons, it said. (*)
