JAKARTA (Rambu Energy) – Muhammad Husen has been appointed as acting President Director of state owned oil and gas company PT Pertamina following the resignation of Karen Agustiawan. Husen was previously director for upstream sector of Pertamina.
“Acting President Director of Pertamina has full authority as President Director. This means he can make strategic decisions,” Ali Mundakir, vice president for corporate communication of Pertamina, was quoted by detik.com as saying.
Karen Agustiawan has tendered her resignation earlier and was effective since October 1. On Tuesday, she went to her office to say farewell to her colleagues in an emotional ceremony.
She said she opted to leave the highly-paid job to focused on her family. Some observers, however, said Karen opted to resign due to political pressure. Recently, she was questioned as a witness in a graft case implicating former SKK Migas former chairman Rudi Rubiandini.
Recently, her name was mentioned in media reports as a candidate for the new Energy and Mineral Resources Minister under President-elect Joko Widodo. (firstname.lastname@example.org)
