JAKARTA (RambuEnergy.com) – The annual Indonesian Petroleum Association, IPA Convex 2018, to be held early next month (May 2-4) will focus on exploring and stimulating the competitiveness of Indonesia’s oil and gas industry given the lacklustre development of the sector in term of new investments.
President of IPA Ronald Gunawan said the theme was chosen considering the investment condition in the upstream oil and gas sector, in particular tightening competition to lure global investors to invest in the oil and gas sector.
This year’s convention will carry theme ‘Driving Indonesia’s Oil and Gs Global Competitiveness” and expected to be opened by President Joko Widodo.
Among sub-topics to be discussed are; Mapping Global Oil and Gas Investment Competitiveness; How Countries Maintain and Improve Their Global Oil and Gas Investment Competitiveness; Aligning Policies to Achieve Indonesia’s Energy Plan, and Improving Indonesia’s Gas Business from Upstream to Downstream.
The chairperson of IPA Convex 2018, Novie Hernawati, said there will be also a special session on technology — Government on Innovation of New Technology Improvement; Impact of Digital Internet of Things in the Upstream Oil and Gas; and New Business Model in Gross Split System; and Technology for Decommissioning.
