JAKARTA (RambuEnergy.com) – Indonesia’s state electricity company Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN) on Monday signed memorandum of understanding to sell electricity to alumina smelter plant in Toba subdistrict, Sanggau, West Kalimantan. The smelter project is developed by PT Dinamika Sejahtera Mandiri (DSM).
The smelter plant is scheduled to begin construction in 2018 and completed in 2020. PLN West Kalimantan branch plans to supply 150 MVA of power in 2020 to the company’s smelter plant.
In addition, PLN also signed MoU to supply electricity to real estate developer PT Kurnia Jaya Raya (KJR) in West Kalimantan.
General Manager PLN for West Kalimantan area Richard Safkaur said mining has been a sector that has attracted investors to West Kalimantan. Earlier, PLN also signed MoU to supply electricity to Smelter Grade Aluminia Refinery (SGAR) in the province with the capacity of 2 million tons per year and required power supply of 100 MW. (*)
