JAKARTA (RambuEnergy.com) – The number of foreign tourists visiting in Indonesia in April 2017 increased 26,75% to 1.14 million from 901,090 people in the same month last year, the Central Bureau of Statistic (BPS) data shows.
The total foreign tourists in the first four month to April reached 4.20 million, up 19.34 percent from the same month last year of 3.52 million people.
Minister for Tourism Arief Yahya earlier projected tourists visiting Indonesia to rise by 10% to 13.5 million this year, from 11.5 million in 2016.
However, he said his office is trying to push the number of foreign tourists to reach 15 million this year through extra efforts, including announcing new top destinations, and further increase to 20 million in 2019.
The level of hotel occupancy rate reached 55.14% or up 0.76 points compared to April 2016 at 54.38%.
On average, foreign visitors sleep 1.84 days at hotel, down 0.04 point from April 2016. (*)
