Shanghai Electric Power interested to build power plant in Palangkaraya

 JAKARTA (RambuEnergy.com) – PT Kelapa Gading Jaya Perkasa and its foreign partner of China, Shanghai Electric Power Construction Ltd, have expressed interest to build a coal fired power plant (PLTU) in Palangkaraya, Kalimantan.

A member of Central Kalimantan local parliament (DPRD) H.M. Asera was quoted by local media that the companies have submitted their proposal to the Central Kalimantan provincial government.

He said the plan is being discussed by the companies and the Central Kalimantan governor H. Sugianto Sabran to obtain permit.

The two companies are proposing to develop 2×150 MW power plant and if approved it will be built in Pahandut Seberang.

The power plant is projected to help resolve power shortage in the area. (*)
