JAKARTA (rambuenergy.com) – PT Pertamina, stated owned energy company has confirmed that there has been fire at RDG-47 well in Jatibarang Field, Indramayu, West Java on Monday morning (Feb. 8).
The rig of the well was caught on fire while well service was being carried out. One worker was reported killed and some were injured and are already transferred to Pertamina hospital in Jakarta.
The fire, said Pertamina, has been contained by Pertamina EP’s emergency team.
The well’s electricity equipment was immediately shut down and well service was also stopped. Pertamina regretted that the fire has happened.
PT Pertamina EP, a subsidiary of state-owned oil and gas company PT Pertamina, has been producing oil from the Jatibarang field in the northwest Java Basinhas of over 8,000 barrels of oil per day. (*)
