Indonesia Parliament approves capital injection allocation for PLN

JAKARTA (rambuenergy.com)– The House Commission VI which oversees state owned enterprises have approved the changes of the utilization of capital injection (PMN) into state electricity company PT PLN worth Rp5 trillion. The capital injection will be used by PLN to fund a number of electricity projects in a number of regions across the country.

Based on the conclusion of a hearing between the House Commission VI and the State Enterprise Ministry at midnight Thursday, PLN will use the funds to finance the development of power plants in Jatigede (hydro power plant or PLTA Jatigede), gas power plant (PLTGU) Grati in East Java, coal power plant (PLTU) Lontar in Central Java and hydro power plant (PLTA) Cisokan in West Java, gas power plant (PLTG) in Gorontalo and diesel power plant in border areas.

“We agree on the changes for the best interest of the nation,” member of Commission VI Nasim Khan was quoted by Antara as saying.

Earlier, as stated by the State Enterprise Ministry, the funds were supposed to be used or building power plants, transmission and power distribution worth Rp4.27 trillion and PLN’s equity in PLTU Pangkalan Susu project worth Rp730 billion. (*)
