Indonesia govt issues tax incentives for shipbuilding

JAKARTA (rambuenergy.com) – The Indonesian government issues tax incentives to shipbuilding industries in a move to stimulate the growth of shipbuilding industry in the country, Finance Minister Bambang Brodjonegoro said.

The minister said the incentive is in the form exemption value added tax (VAT). Under the scheme, VAT from the shipbuilders will not collected by the government.

In addition,  income tax of shipbuilders will also be reduced. The new ruling is issued by the government through Finance Ministry Regulation no. 159, 2015.

“It has been done and officially applies. The time and place (for the launch) will be announced soon,” the minister was quoted by Kompas as saying.
